Prayer for Love
Dearest Jesus, renew the love between us today. Sometimes our feelings fade or become routine, but your love never changes. Help us fall in love with each other all over again-not with romantic feelings alone, but with the deep, committed, sacrificial love that mirrors your love for us.
Strengthen our affection and help us express it generously. Holy Spirit, guide us deeper into the kind of love that 1 Corinthians 13 describes. Help us be patient when frustration arises, kind when irritation tempts us, and humble enough to keep no record of wrongs.
Teach us to love not just when it feels good, but when it requires sacrifice and commitment. Father God, help us understand that our love is not built on circumstances or feelings alone, but on a foundation of choice.
Prayer for Faithfulness
Lord, we stand before you and recommit our vows of faithfulness. Guard our hearts and minds. Give us wisdom to avoid temptation and strength to remain true to each other and to you.
God of covenant, help us remember the promises we made-not just to each other, but to you. When challenges arise, remind us of our commitment. Help us be the faithful partner our spouse deserves and the faithful follower you’ve called us to be.
Almighty God, protect our marriage from the enemies of faithfulness: pride, selfishness, complacency, and lustful desires. Build a hedge of protection around us. Help us see faithfulness not as a burden, but as a privilege and an act of worship.
Prayer for Unity
Lord Jesus, who prayed that we would be one, bring deep unity to our marriage. Help us stop competing and start complementing each other. Help us see our differences as strengths rather than sources of conflict.
Create in us a desire to understand our spouse’s perspective, to validate their feelings, and to work toward mutual agreement even when it requires compromise. Spirit of God, create a spiritual oneness between us.
Help us pray together, worship together, and serve together. Let our marriage not just be two individuals living under one roof, but two people truly united in purpose and heart.
Father, make us one, yet celebrate our individuality. Help us have healthy boundaries, pursue our own spiritual growth, and maintain our own identities, all while building a strong marriage foundation. Create unity without uniformity, connection without control.
Prayer for Wisdom
God of all wisdom, we need your guidance more than ever. Help us navigate the decisions facing our marriage whether about finances, children, career changes, or spiritual direction. Give us wisdom to counsel each other well, to listen with open hearts, and to seek your will together.
Holy Spirit, grant us discernment. Help us distinguish between selfish desires and God’s will for our marriage. When disagreement arises, help us seek understanding and truth rather than victory.
Eternal God, you see the future we cannot see. Help us trust your plan for our marriage. Give us wisdom to prepare for whatever season lies ahead and wisdom to be a blessing to others in our marriage community.
Prayers for Protection, Peace, Joy and Health
Prayer for God’s Protection
Mighty God and our fortress, protect our marriage from all that would harm it. Protect us from the temptations of this world, from the schemes of the enemy, and from our own sinful nature. Build a spiritual hedge around us. Shield our hearts, guard our minds, and keep our love pure and strong.
Lord, we pray for protection from the destructive forces that attack marriages: infidelity, anger, financial stress, and loss of communication. Give us the strength and wisdom to resist these attacks. Help us identify problems early and address them with prayer, counseling, and commitment.
Guardian of our souls, protect us from pride, bitterness, and the slow drift that happens when couples neglect their relationship. Guard us from third parties who might threaten our bond. Protect our home, our finances, and our emotional wellbeing.
Prayer for Peace
Prince of Peace, bring your supernatural peace to our marriage. Help us experience the kind of peace that passes understanding peace that transcends our circumstances, peace that remains when life is difficult.
God of comfort, when stress, conflict, or worry threatens our peace, remind us to bring these burdens to you in prayer. Help us not to carry our problems alone but to cast them on you, knowing you care for us.
Lord, help us experience peace with each other not the superficial peace of avoiding conflict, but the genuine peace that comes from being fully known and fully accepted. Let us feel safe with each other physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Prayer for Joy
God of joy and gladness, help us rediscover the joy in our marriage! Sometimes the routine of daily life can dim the sparkle of our love. Help us celebrate each other more, laugh together more freely, and find delight in each other’s company.
Holy Spirit, fill our marriage with genuine joy not forced happiness or shallow entertainment, but deep, abiding joy that flows from our faith in God and our love for each other. Help us see the humor in life’s challenges, the beauty in small moments, and the blessing in ordinary days.
Lord, help us play together, celebrate together, and find reasons to smile. Help us remember why we fell in love in the first place. Fill our marriage with laughter, adventure, and the kind of lightness that makes life worth living.
Prayer for Good Health
Healer of all sickness, we entrust our physical health to you. Bless our bodies with strength, vitality, and wellness. Help us care for our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit through proper nutrition, exercise, rest, and medical care.
If either of us faces health challenges, grant us courage and help us support each other with compassion. If age or illness brings changes to our physical relationship, help us adapt with grace and maintain our emotional and spiritual intimacy.
God of all comfort, if we face illness or injury, grant us patience with each other, compassion in caregiving, and trust in your goodness. Help our marriage actually grow stronger through health challenges rather than be weakened by them.
Prayer for Future Years Together
God who holds all our days, we commit our future to you. Whether our marriage lasts thirty more years or thirty days, help us trust that you have a perfect plan. Help us not to fear the future but to face it together with faith.
Lord of our tomorrow, help us envision the kind of marriage we want to have in future years. Help us invest in our relationship now so it will bear fruit later. Help us break unhealthy patterns, build healthy habits, and make decisions today that we’ll be grateful for tomorrow.
Eternal Father, help us remember that our marriage is not ultimately about our happiness or success, but about reflecting your love to a watching world and growing into the image of Christ. Help us build a legacy of faith, a testimony of God’s faithfulness, and a model of Christ-centered love for future generations.

Give us a healthy perspective on intimacy; thank you for giving us a glimpse into what your perfect relationship looks like with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Ways to Show Love on an Anniversary
